The site is now running for about 7 years. Thanks to all visitors and all the kind comments and suggestions I recieved from you.
There were only some minor changes on my page over the last year, most of them invisible to my visitors, some improvements and reorganizing of galleries. My most recent gallery "Girls and Ancient Rites" - and my most successful one - got over 22.000 hits last year. I am going to update it several times a month. The latest images are topmost, the older ones
moved to the bottom. I had to split the gallery because it became too huge.
Also have a look at my sister site http://www.joesartworlds.de/. This is a G-rated site, so no nudes at all. I decided to strengthen this site by adding more galleries and a freestuff section as well. It focuses more on experimental art, unusual approaches, textures and modelling. There are no links back to my other sites.
My download area is still growing. Most recent updates you'll find at my scifi items and my architectonic objects.
I also offer some few items in my "swapshop" (once sold at Renderosity): such as more elaborated models or complete scenes for use in Poser. If you like my fresstuff, have a look at them ...
What's new?
My New TFT Monitor
I had a tough time since my old TFT monitor died 2 weeks ago. I was unable to
work with my PC, no Poser fun, no rendering, no graphics - my only internet access was in the office,
where I could check and answer my mails.
Now the lean time is over. My new 19" TFT is working fine :) :) :)
The old monitor had 15" in diameter, the new one now has 19". It looks not so much larger
than the other one, I couldn't believe. So, what did Dr. Joe, the unbeliever ?
I took a ruler and measured: now I am convinced: the diameter of the new one is 4" larger - LOL.
Ah - forgot to mention: it is a Siemens-Fujitsu L19-2SD.
Here are the specs.
Indian Garden Fantasy Gazebo
Inspired by Indian architecture buildings from the era of the Mogul dynasty. I found time to have a closer look at the pictures from India, taken by a friend who did a sightseeing tour last autumn. Just some hundreds of fotos.
As always I like the user to do their own scenes and creations, so all objects are included as individual props to provide a kind of construction kit. I added 3 pre-assembled scenes, one background plane with foto image included.
Have a look in my
new product showcase gallery. Here you can see some sample scenes.
This is not a free giveaway (sorry, folks), it was made for the online store
at Illusions-Designs and it is only available over there.
Look for "Sets and Props".
Old Roman Bath
Designed after foto references for use in Poser. Have a look in my
new product showcase gallery. Here you can see some sample scenes.
This is not a free giveaway (sorry, folks), it was made for the online store
at Illusions-Designs and it is only available over there.
Look for "Sets and Props".
StandingStones
A new product showcase gallery added. Here you can see, how my new Stonehenge-inspired
structure works and
what you can do with it. Most pics are rendered in Poser, a couple are done in Bryce
as well. This is not a free giveaway (sorry, folks), it was made for the online store
at Illusions-Designs and it is only available over there. Look for "Sets and Props".
My first freestuff item uploaded. Visit the scifi section of my download area.
My most popular gallery "Girls and Ancient Rites" updated. This is where I keep posting my latest images,
come back from time to time. Updates almost every week.
A new gallery added, the Blue Gallery, dedicated
to moody themes in cool blue colortone with atmospheric mood.
Beautiful young women or demons in ancient or mystical environments. Most of them nude or sparely dressed,
but tastefully presented.
A new gallery added,
Landscapes, where I want to show off my proceedings with Bryce and other 3D landscape
generators. There are some POVRAY and Poser renders as well, with various amount of postwork added, to see the differences.
Now I am totally overwhelmed. Poser5 came out for free at Efrontier's Content Paradise. I registered for a free copy, but was still unable to download due to heavy traffic. Let's see if I can get my copy before it expires. I am not sure if it will run smoothly on my PC, maybe I have to upgrade to use it and render within reasonable time. I still had no time to check some tuts nor tips&tricks. Let's see ...
DAZ3D is giving away Bryce 5.0 for free. I ordered and downloaded my copy. Thanks :) Now it's time to play with it and learn a new program (although I had a demo copy that I used from time to time to create some cool textures - saving disabled). My first terrain and landscape scene turned out very promising. I think I am going to start a new gallery dedicated to Bryce renders within the next weeks. The next step I sucessfully did, was importing OBJ-files intended for use in Poser. My future plans are importing Poser characters into Bryce, but first I have to study a couple of tutorials ...
A couple of cool digitally created stone and rock surface textures uploaded to my section stonetextures, some of them overlayed with a 3D brick texture. Have fun :)
At the moment I am in the process of checking and testing various guestbook scripts to replace my old guestbook. I found a couple of suitable scripts. The new guestbook should have improved spam protection, enhanced features, email notification and the ability of editing existing entries. Unfortunately the programmer of my old guestbook stopped its development. I hope that I can soon have my guestbook back and working.
A bit quiet lately. On June, 15th I got seriously ill. I struggled two days until I decided to go to hospital. It was a case of "appendicitis" in last stage. It was critical they said, with some serious complications after the surgery. I was nearly two weeks in hospital, without chance to post or even internet access. Then another two weeks recovering at home and my first weak attempts to create something in Poser.
OK - I am back again, a bit "faint" or so, but nearly myself again :)
A couple of scifi scenes added to scifidesktop. I used the free dystopia city blocks from Moebius87. Hmmm ... every time I take an approach in a scifi cityscape it results in a dark and dusty atmosphere.
I am sorry to announce that I decided to disable my guestbook for a while due to increasing amount of spam entries. The guestbook is not intended as an ad for viagra and cialis and phentermine and other such stuff. And I am not inclined to wipe out half a dozen of postings every day - not to mention what will happen when I am some days out for holidays ...
Thanks to all who gave me feedback about my work and my site. I hope I'll find a solution ASAP ...
I am proud to announce my interview for the "Free Stuff of the Month Contributor" at Renderosity.
[Quote]
"Each month we showcase a Renderosity Free Stuff Artist, in appreciation for their thoughtfulness, and countless hours spent creating free items for the Renderosity community. This month we are proud to showcase the works of Joe Kurz, better known to his Renderosity fellow artists as jenay."
o Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
o Where do you get your ideas from?
o What was the first model you ever made?
o Do you have any advice for someone just starting out modeling and sharing their free stuff items?
o ... and much more questions you never dared to ask ;)

Some new cool scifi textures added to my texture gallery. Visit here. Hope you like them.
A new gallery added, dedicated to classical pinup poses. Inspired by fine nude art fotographers I am trying to re-create some classical poses with minimalistic environment settings. Visit gallery. Hope you like it.
A new fantasy wall panel with a rosetta window uploaded to my download area. Hope you like it.
A new scifi wall panel uploaded to my download area. Just check out.
My PC crashed at the beginning of August, almost a complete month without PC and rendering capabilities - *sigh* it was a tough time ... In the meantime I bought a new mainboard, CPU, fan and RAM (not enough money to buy a complete new PC) - and it's working again :) :) I had to reinstall Windows, but Poser resides on a second HD, and it's working, no need to change anything. runtime and all data preserved !
Three weeks without Poser. How will this end ... ?
My PC died last weekend. Seems a hardware failure with mainboard/CPU and/or memory. Had to stop my projects for a while ... sorry :( ... I took some investigations to find affordable hardware, but it may take a while until I am online back again. Luckily - the HDs with all data are preserved. I'll let you know when I am on duty again ...
2 new architectonic items released in my download section: a gothic styled vault and a simple monopteros temple. Just check out.
My summer holidays in Mallorca/Spain are over. I collected a couple of digital photos that will inspire me to make new models, like as some mediterranean houses and places, a light tower, or an arabic castle, coming soon ...
A new section opened at my sister site "Joe's Artworlds" with work in progress, graphic experiments and unusual approaches. Make sure to stop there from time to time. There are some hidden downloads and other secret goodies as well ...

I am in the process of re-organizing my galleries: merging some
older galleries and splitting the newer ones that are overpopulated. so
you may notice some minor changes here and there. If you find some
broken links, please let me know. You may use my
guestbook
to leave
comments and questions. Enjoy :)

A new gallery SciFi Scenes and Backgrounds opened, 9 pics added.
Gallery "Stormy Seas" merged with my Sorceress gallery. This is a gallery containing some of my oldest Poser pics I did early in 2001 like as the series "Stormy Seas". At that time I only rendered small size images, because my old PC couldn't handle more without crashing.
New SciFi item added in my download area.
Have fun :)

A Happy New Year 2005 to all my visitors :)
I am a bit late with my updates, forgive me. The new year started with a big
catastrophe: my hard disk crashed, and I lost approx. 25 Gigs of artwork,
projects and WIP, nearly all stuff I did over the last 6 months ... :(
I could only recover some small snippets, so have to start over again. It will
take a time, until there is enough stuff to start with a new gallery ...
Anyway - have a look at my
recent gallery, where I am used to post my latest pics.
Have fun :)
